The fitting of this flood prevention device is very straight forward, I myself have fitted this device to my fridge ¼”pipe work and under sink system ¼” pipe work, and I am not even close to being a plumber.
In the outlet end of the fitting, there is a white key (bit of white plastic with a hole in) this key is used to turn the red gauge between 5 and 50 litres.
An example.
My own fridge and under sink system are used simply for drinking water and filling the kettle- With a flood prevention fitting fitted to the pipework, you can simply get a glass of water from your fridge, then another, then another-as a glass of water is about ½ a litre. But if you held the fridge lever open and just let the water pour onto the floor-then after it has released 5 litres the water would just shut off preventing any more spillage.I know 5 litres would make a mess-but nowhere near what would happen if you are on holiday when your pipe work decides to spring a leak.
If-like my wife you wash your veg using the the under sink system, then you can set the fitting to 10 litres, so this should then give you enough time to wash something before the waterblock shuts off the water supply. Just set the fitting to what you feel will be a good shut off point. And if the waterblock is activated then it can be rest at the flick of a lever on the external of the valve itself.
Full instructions come with each water block fitting.
Returns on this product can only be accepted if (unless faulty)the fitting has not been used, as we can not resell a fitting with water inside it.
