5 Stage Reverse Osmosis 400GPD System | Fishkeeping, Window Cleaning, High Flow RO System by Finerfilters

Reverse Osmosis is a technology used to remove the large majority (98%+) of contaminants from water. The Reverse Osmosis system works by pushing the water under pressure through a number of increasingly smaller filters and finally through a semipermeable membrane, essentially trapping all contaminants.

Finerfilters are here to support you before and long after you buy. We provide help through manuals, easy-install guides, diagrams, and phone & email support.

This system produces up to 1514 litres per day of purified water and comes complete with the following:

  • Installation Manual.
  • Chrome Faucet Tap.
  • All pipes, pre-filters, post-filters, and fittings are required for easy installation.

The membrane can last between 1 and 2 years dependent on water hardness. Filters are to be replaced every six months.

Please note:

This system requires a minimum of 29PSI (2 BAR) to work. This is for the booster pump to operate. Operating the system at a lower pressure than the minimum can cause damage to the pump itself.

Ideal pressure depends upon incoming water temperature but around 60 PSI (4 BAR) is acceptable.

Reverse Osmosis Systems waste water to make water, and this should be done at high pressure as the water is being forced through microscopic holes which catch contaminants.

This is normal and the same with all RO systems as this is the way the membrane rejects the impure water, which goes to the drain, to produce pure water.

The system works optimally at 80-90 PSI (5.5 - 6 bar), and to get to the quoted output, we'd recommend running the system on or around this pressure.

This allows the system to reduce the waste water to pure water ratio and work quicker at producing pure water.

Finerfilters Domestic Undersink 5 Stage Reverse Osmosis System (400 GPD) The 5 stages of filtration are; Stage 1 A 5 Micron Sediment Filter Made of 100% Pure Polypropylene Fibres. Removes Dirt, Sand and Rust. Stage 2 A Granular Activated Carbon Filter Composed of High - Performance Activated Carbon. Removes Free Chlorine, Odour, Organic Contaminants, Pesticides and Chemicals. Stage 3 A Carbon Block Filter Composed of High-Performance Carbon. Removes Trihalomethanes, Pesticides and Volatile Organic Chemicals (VOCs). Stage 4 2x High Rejection Thin Film Composite 200 GPD Reverse Osmosis Membranes with the total capacity to produce up to 1514 litres of purified water per day. This membrane removes contaminants present in water including, up to 99% of dissolved salts, lead, copper, barium, bacterial by-products, oestrogen and silica. Stage 5 A Post Carbon Filter Designed to Improve Taste. It Removes any Residual Impurities and Odours from the Tank and Provides a Finer Conditioning of the Purified Water.

The 5 stages of filtration are:

Stage 1

  • A 5-micron sediment filter made of 100% pure polypropylene fibres. It removes dirt, sand, and rust.

Stage 2

  • A Granular Activated Carbon Filter is composed of High-Performance Activated Carbon. It removes free chlorine, odours, organic contaminants, pesticides and chemicals.

Stage 3

  • A carbon block filter is composed of high-performance carbon. It removes trihalomethanes, pesticides, and volatile organic chemicals (VOCs).

Stage 4

2 x High Rejection Thin Film Composite 200 GPD Reverse Osmosis Membranes with a total capacity to produce up to 1514 litres of purified water per day. This membrane removes contaminants present in water, including, up to 99% of dissolved salts, lead, copper, barium, bacterial by-products, oestrogen, and silica.

Stage 5

A single Post-Carbon Filter, designed to enhance taste, removes residual impurities and odours from the tank and provides finer conditioning of the purified water.

Important:

  1. This system requires a minimum of 29 PSI (2 BAR) to work. This is for the booster pump to operate.
  2. Operating the system at a lower pressure than the minimum can cause damage to the pump.
  3. Ideal pressure depends upon incoming water temperature but around 60 PSI (4 BAR) is acceptable.
  4. Reverse Osmosis Systems wastewater to make water, and this should be done at high pressure as the water is being forced through microscopic holes which catch contaminants.
  5. This is normal and the same with all RO systems as this is the way the membrane rejects the impure water, which goes to the drain, to produce pure water.
  6. The system works optimally at 80-90 PSI (5.5 - 6 bar), and to get to the quoted output, we'd recommend running the system on or around this pressure.
  7. This allows the system to reduce the waste water to pure water ratio and work faster at producing pure water.

To use this system in a window cleaning or aquatic application which requires zero (0) TDS water, we strongly recommend pairing an additional De-Ionising Resin filter with this RO system to assure total contaminant removal. 10" housings with drop-in refillable DI cartridges and inline DI resin cartridges are available to buy.
