Finerfilters 3 Stage Aquarium Reverse Osmosis Unit For Marine, Tropical and Discus Fish (75 GPD)

EXCELLENT PRODUCT

I bought this reverse osmosis system to provide water for my aquarium. The item arrived in very good time despite the Covid-19 lock down measures in place. It was very easy to put together and have up and running. Living in Bristol which is a hard water area, the tds I am getting averages around 4 which is excellent for my needs. I had plenty of help via email with questions I needed to ask concerning the set up from Tracey Hill the Customer Service Manager. My water pressure is about 45 psi so I will most likely purchase a pump from Finefilters once they are available. I would readily recommend this product, I am very happy with it and the service provided.

Easy To Install And Use

Installed this in my shed to connect to garden hose. Only needed one additional adapter but had one lying around. Unit works well. Flow output is low, but as expected and I don’t need much for my reef tank. Instructions could be clearer, but was still quite easy to install. Great product.

Finerfilters 3 Stage Aquarium Reverse Osmosis Unit For Marine, Tropical and Discus Fish (50 GPD)

Fantastic

Great little filter. I purchased the 50 gallons per day unit, and with reasonable water pressure I am producing around 35-40 gallons or pure water per day. I have noticed an increase in production since the weather has warmed as our water is pretty cold in winter. I actually purchased my unit several months ago and am leaving this review as I am back for some replacement filters (which are also great value). Many thanks

Finerfilters 4 Stage Aquarium Reverse Osmosis Unit with DI Chamber For Marine, Tropical and Discus Fish (100 GPD)

Recommended

Bought for aquarium use. My first RO unit, so followed set-up instructions carefully. It's supplied with components to allow it to be permanently plumbed into the mains, but I'm using it in a portable setting. Once set up, TDS reduced to 0 (from the usual 400-450 in my area). Seems to be producing about 10 litres/2.2 gallons per hour. So, way short of the 100 GPD, but that will be due to local water pressure rather than a fault with the unit. (10 litres an hour is fine for me anyway. I only use 25 litres a week at present.) In terms of waste water to RO water, I seem to be getting about 1 litre RO to 5 or 6 litres waste. I guess this is influenced by water pressure and tap water purity, but again, this is fine (and the waste will end up watering the garden). Apart from the fact that it's the fish in the aquarium who should be writing this review and not me, I'm very happy with this purchase.

3 Stage Aquarium Reverse Osmosis Compact 50 GPD Unit for Tropical Fish, Marine & Discus by Finerfilters

First RO Unit

This is my first RO unit and I was completely new to making RO water, I wanted something small and simple to operate when needed, just weekly for my aquariums. It's just what I needed. Firstly, it's simple to set up, in my case temporarily connected, as needed, to the washing machine outlet (but it also comes with accessories to plumb it permanently to your mains) It filters the water really well, and produces around 1 litre of RO water every 10 minutes at my mains pressure. Finally, I just wanted to add a comment about the excellent communication regarding any questions that i had both before and after purchase, Tracey at Customer Services was SO helpful. Thank you!

Works Well But Only Get 20 G Per Day

Initially the wrong filter was dispatched. When the correct filter arrived some parts were missing which were sent to me immediately and arrived next day. The instructions are not very clear but I understand they are be revised. The output is disappointing at only 20 gallons a day with 5 times that as waste. Finer filters tell me it is probably due to low water pressure but it appears ok to me. Water quality is excellent. 27.07.18 - Thank you for taking the time to review us and our product. We apologise for the errors initially on your order and can confirm that our instructions have now been updated. All the RO systems that we supply will work on a minimum pressure of around 45 psi but this will reduce the output of the unit. To get the optimal performance 80 psi is required. We do sell Booster Pumps and Kits to increase the pressure for any lower pressure situations so you can get the most out of your unit.

Really Good Product

I purchased this unit in December 2017, it is very easy to install I have mine on an outside tap with the waste plumed into the kitchen waste pipe, it is easy to disconnect which I do after making 150 litres to avoid frost damage. This unit does all it is claimed to do but so far I can only get 25 litres out in 5 hours so that equates to about 25 gals a day. My mains water is at about 8 bar. The quality of water is excellent pH about 5.3 TDs 0, I mix it with 50% tap water it gives me a pH of 6.5 and TDs of 120 which is fine for me
