This UV steriliser is most commonly used as a whole house water treatment system on private water supplies, boreholes, wells, and spring-fed systems, though it's equally well suited to mains-fed properties where water quality is a concern.
For the UV sterilisation process to work effectively, the water passing through must be visually clear. Sediment or suspended particles can shield bacteria from the UV light, reducing the system's ability to disinfect.
We strongly recommend fitting a sediment pre-filter ahead of this unit as part of a complete water treatment setup. Depending on your water quality, this can be housed in a single-stage or multi-stage unit. A carbon block filter can also be added upstream to remove chlorine or organic compounds if needed.
It’s also a convenient option because maintenance is minimal; make sure to replace the UV lamp every 6 months or after 9,000 hours of use. Note that the lamp stays lit even when due for replacement. The control box now has a Day counter to help you know when to change the lamp.
