Good filter candle -suitable for Durandt Water Filter

I’ve been looking for a while for a filter candle to replace the Doulton 5.5” candle in my Durandt Water Filter System. Doulton no longer makes the 5.5” candles or if they do, I don’t know where to find them.
This filter is a good alternative. It’s not as big as the Doulton 5.5”, thinner in diameter and the thread part is not as long. After removing one of the washers, the candle fitted perfectly and filtered the water at a steady rate.
Water tastes good compared to tap water and looks very clear. So all in all a good alternative.
I’ll purchase another one to keep in stock and going forward as long as they have them in stock. If the thread part can be extended it will really help.

I bought this for my Filteroo gravity system, it fits well and produces great tasting water. It took a while for it to get going but I think this is a good thing showing that it filters thoroughly.
