Limescale is a hard, white chalky deposit which is naturally occurring and is made up of calcium and magnesium.
Water containing a lot of “scale" is considered hard water. Limescale can be a big problem for home owners, especially if you live in a hard water area as scale can leave white marks on your work surfaces, decrease heat output on heating appliances such as kettles and boilers, and make hot beverages taste chalky and leave a thin film of scum on top of drinks.
This 10" Carbon Block contains polyphosphate, which is a scale inhibitor and can also remove pre-existing scale from pipework.
