Unlike traditional filters on stationary media, fluidised bed filters use a continuous flow of water to keep filter media in constant motion. This movement allows maximum contact between the water and the media, fostering the growth of beneficial bacteria that break down ammonia and nitrites, two harmful byproducts of fish waste.
We currently stock two options.
Finerfilters Fluidised Bed Filter with Hosepipe connections – this clear, refillable filter pod can be used with the media of your choice such as DI Resin or Activated Carbon. Comes with 2 Hozelock adaptors, 2 brass hex nipples and ¼’’ housing.
Finerfilters Fluidised Bed Filter with 1/4" connections - comes with ¼’’ clear housing, 2 fittings and 5m of white DMFit tubing. This option can also be used with the refillable media of your choice and uses universal ¼’’ connections to more easily connect with existing systems.
